Some audits will be more unique than others and will require more or different documents. The list below pertains to income tax audits for employees.
- IRP5(s) from your employer(s)
- Medical aid tax certificates
- Retirement fund certificates
- Completed SARS travel logbook
- Vehicle purchase agreement
- Bank statements for the period under review
- Any other documents you know will prove what the figures you submitted were based on
If you get travel allowances from your employer for using your personal vehicle, you might be due for a refund.
